Civil CeremoniesAs soon as the couple have made the decision to have a civil ceremony at The Crown Hotel they must contact the registrars office. The contact number is 01228 607432. It is important to do this as soon as possible in order to secure the date which you require. There will be a fee for the registrars services, and they will advise you accordingly. You must give the local registrar from your home town Notice of Marriage. This notice must be given in person by the couple and is valid for only one year. The registrar will discuss in detail the legal obligations of all parties concerned. The Crown Hotel is permitted to be the venue for non religious civil ceremonies, and as such any music, readings, words, poetry or performance which form any part of the ceremony must be secular. The content of which must be discussed with the registrar who will be attending the ceremony. We have five rooms which are registered for civil ceremonies:
It is proposed that couples will soon be able to get married anywhere, so if you wish to have a look around the grounds and gardens, then this will soon be an option. Flowers for the pew ends and top table arrangement are inclusive in the Room Hire Rate. An interview will take place on the day of the Wedding, between the registrar and the Bride and Groom separately prior to the ceremony, and normally lasts around 15 minutes. All other arrangements, such as menus and drinks packages are taken from the main wedding brochure. |
